NORFOLK - Clinton DeWitt Turner Jr., 93, born in the Berkley section of Norfolk, died January 5, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Anna Dorothy Turner; his mother, Nellie Emory Turner; father, Clinton DeWitt Turner Sr.; his sister, Elizabeth Turner Butler; his best friends, William Darby Speese and his wife, Stephanie Speese.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Turner Beauter and her husband, Robert O. Beauter, Jr.; son, Clinton J. Turner and his wife, Cheryl Barrett Turner, and his Son, Kenneth Ray Turner. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Kristen Beauter, Jessica Turner, and Kimberly Turner and their mother, Mary Turner; two grandsons, Michael Beauter, and Jason Anderson and his wife, Lori Anderson; and great grandson, Clayton Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of W.W. II in the Army Air Corp. and was assigned to the 438th Troop Carrier Group 87th SQD. His group campaigned in - Rome - Arno Normandy, Southern France, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes Central Europe. He received the Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal, European African Middle Eastern service ribbon, Distinguished Unit Badge.

After his discharge he worked at NARF and retired after 38 yrs. of service.
He served as Senior Warden at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. He was elected as President and Vice President of the Polish American Society of Tidewater. He was a 71 year member of the Doric Masonic Lodge No. 44 and a 50+ year member of the Khedive Shrine Temple.
A special thanks go out to Connie Gayle who made time weekly for a card game, and his two personal care givers Ann Broddus and Amanda Berry for all of the personal care, companionship, and meals they provided to our father.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13th at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, with Rev. Fr. Richard Bridgeford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 1530 Lafayette Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23509. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements.
