William C. "Dub" Maroney, 74, of Kirbyville died Friday, May 15, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Central Baptist Church in Kirbyville with Rev. Jimmy Burks and Tommy Cannon officiating. Burial was at Kirbyville Cemetery under the direction of E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.

A native of New Braunsfels, he lived in Kirbyville 10 years and previously for 22 years in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a retired directional driller in the oilfield industry. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of New Harmony Masonic Lodge in New Harmony, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Lida Maroney of Kirbyville; a son, the Rev. Gary W. Maroney of Troutdale, Oregon; brothers, Irvin L. Maroney and Jim Maroney, both of Carencro, Louisiana, and Richard Maroney of Dallas; sisters, Alice Taylor of New Braunfels and Bernice Kubecka of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Gabriel, Samuel, Sarah and Joel.

Memorial donations may be made to Central Baptist Church building fund in Kirbyville.
