Jeanne Alice Edwards Memorial services for Bothell activist and former state legislator Jeanne Edwards will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan's Church in Bothell. A reception will follow at Hollywood Schoolhouse, Woodinville. Jeanne died June 26 at age 82 following a 13-year battle against kidney disease. She spent a lifetime dedicated to “dreaming, planning and doing" in the fields of communications, public health and government. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2000 and is survived by daughters Julie McCartney of Woodinville, Jill Bowman of Baring, and Colleen of Seattle; son William of Snohomish; sister Ginny Bauer of Palm Springs, CA; brothers Jim Laushine and Joe Laushine of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Northwest Kidney Center, P.O. Box 3035, Seattle WA 98114.
