She was proceeded in death by her husband, Billy Fisher, in 1988, and a son James William Fugate, in 1991.
She is survived by two sons, John L. Fugate and his wife Mary Lou of West Terre Haute, and Robert J. Fugate Sr. and his companion Debra Goings of Terre Haute, a stepson, Mike Fisher and his wife Karen and family, a brother, Jerry Beel, and his wife Bette of Owensville, IN., 10 grandchildren, Rick Fugate (Lori), Teresa Reese (Tom), William T. Fugate, Robert J. Fugate Jr., Robert R. Fugate, Robert W. Matherly, Shonda E. French, Mindy S. Fugate, Barbara Johnson and James B. Fugate; 20 great- grandchildren and 11; great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother Lester Beel; and a sister Joan Mace.
Clarene was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Post 972 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved bowling and had been an avid bowler for many years. She was named to the Terre Haute Bowling League Hall of Fame. She had actually been bowling at least two times a week up to the age 87 and she loved all of her bowling family.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday.
