George Adney Cole Sr., 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

George was born April 14, 1929, in Courtney, Missouri, the son of Theodor Almey Sr. and Edith Anna Mae (Cline) Cole. He worked at a rock quarry for 30 years, where he was High Loader Operator. George was a member of the Christian Assembly of God in Independence. He enjoyed dining out with his children, loved family picnics, and family reunion picnics were his biggest joy. George was all about faith, family, and food!

George was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Ruth Cole; a daughter, Patricia Oles; son, George Cole Jr.; stepson, Leslie Helm; granddaughter, Cheyenne Thompson; his parents; one brother and two sisters.

His survivors include five children: Virginia Banderas of Oak Grove, Cheryl Anderson of Independence, Michael Cole of Levasy, MO, Brenda Herford (Melvin) of St. Charles, MO, and Mildred Boyer (Kevin) of Independence; two stepdaughters: Orlinda Jolley (Wayne) of Independence, and Dorothy Steiner (Randy) of Amity, MO; one sister, Edith Juanita Clark of Blue Springs; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
