Constance (Connie) Bishop Rose, age 84, of Colonial Heights, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Emmett Bishop and Sue Elizabeth Bishop. She was the eldest of three children, and survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Searls, and her brother, Samuel (Buddy) Bishop III. Her surviving family also includes her devoted husband of 62 years, William Briggs Rose; and their three children, Linda Sue Phillips, William (Bill) Briggs Rose Jr., and Robert (Bob) Atchley Rose; and two grandchildren, Blair Phillips Hoffmann, and William Hunter Phillips.

Connie graduated from Dinwiddie High School and Richmond Professional Institute. She held various positions during her career, working for the Dinwiddie County School Board, bookkeeper for the family business (Dinwiddie Motor Company), and finally retiring in 1998 from the position of Deputy Treasurer for Dinwiddie County. However, one of her most treasured roles in life was being a wonderful grandmother (Granny) to her grandchildren. She was a gifted knitter, and was known for the many beautiful sweaters made for all family members. She also became quite an accomplished golfer, spending many hours on the course as a member of the Country Club of Petersburg. Connie was a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie.
