Earl Day Stanley age 70 passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of the late Artie and Elzie Stanley. Mr. Stanley was a lifelong resident of Caney Ridge who loved auto racing, trophies and blue grass festivals. He was a loving son, brother and uncle.
Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Yancy, Maverick, Gerald, and Oliver Wayne Stanley; one sister, Stella Sims; special brother-in-law Roger Neece.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Stanley and wife Thelma of Cohutta, Georgia; eight sisters, Hattie June Hamilton of Clintwood, Sandy Hayes and husband Bobby of Rocky Face Georgia, Tammy Plumbley and husband Rodney of Chattsworth, Georgia, Sherry Samples and husband Henry of Chattsworth, Georgia, Mary Baker and husband Richard of Clintwood, Cola Fletcher and husband Ray of Dalton, Georgia, Nancy Neece, sister and special caretaker of Clintwood and Rita Hamilton of Clintwood; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.
Peuther Chapel Church.
Burial will follow in the Rufus Stanley Cemetery, Little Brushy Road.
