Mr. Jack Marvin Drawdy age 70 of 543 Thomas Hamilton Rd. , Brunson, S C passed away March 17, 2008 at his residence with his loving family with him. Funeral services were held 11 am Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Huggin Oak Church of God in Cummings, SC. with Rev.David Schaffer and Rev. Willie Crosby Officiating Ministers and directed by The Brice W. Herndon Sons Funeral Home, Varnville/Hampton Chapel. Interment was held in Sand Hill Cemetery of Cummings. Jack was born December 9, 1937 in Hampton County (Birth cert. reads November 9, 1937 which was a mistake which was not ever corrected) He was the son of the late William Hansel Drawdy Sr. and Iva Lee Long Drawdy. He worked for Westinghouse for 35 years and International Paper for 2 years in Hampton, SC. He attended Open Arms Fellowship in Hampton and was a member of Salkehatchie Hunting Club in Cummings. He was an avid outdoorsman who liked hunting, fishing and shrimping. Jack was devoted to God with love for Him his family and many, many friends. Surviving are his wife, Doris "Dot" Freeman Drawdy, 2 daughters Caryl D. Ulmer and Karen D. Cook and husband F. Allen Cook Sr., 1 son Hank M. Drawdy and wife Robin R. Drawdy, 2 brothers, George M. Drawdy and wife Joyce P. Drawdy and Joseph Arnold Drawdy, 2 sisters, Betty Jo D. Crosby and husband Willie O. Crosby and brother-in-law Robert Connelly, grand-children, F. Allen Cook Jr., Angie M. Crosby and husband Daniel, Brittany C. Pope, Brandy Ulmer, Christopher Ulmer, Noah, Joshua, and Elijah Drawdy and great-grand children Whitney Crosby and Haylen Cook and a special aunt, Nell Long Cobb. He was preceded in death by a sister Janice D. Connelly and 2 brothers, William Hansel Drawdy Jr and Bobby Dean Drawdy and a Son-in-law David E. Ulmer. Family & friends called Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the Brice Herndon & Sons Funeral Home, Varnville/Hampton Chapel.
