Mrs. Sanchez was born April 5, 1938, to Frank and Benita (Reyna) Guerra. She married Alfredo (Fred) Sanchez on Dec. 23, 1954, in Beeville. She had worked as a medical assistant for family planning and had also worked for several years at Beeville Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Lee (Norma R. Guerrero) Sanchez of Beeville, Alfred Sanchez Jr. of Houston and Richard John (Mylynda) Sanchez of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Debbie Ann Flores of Skidmore and Melissa Joyce (Louis Rodriguez) Sanchez of Beeville; three brothers, Joe (Sally) Guerra and Eduardo Guerra, both of Houston, and Jesse Guerra of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mary E. Guerra of Corpus Christi; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 oclock.
Her body lay in state at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were R.A. Flores, Jacob Flores, Robert Sanchez Jr., Joe Reyes, Enrique KiKi Guerrero and Dru Salazar.
Honorary pallbearers were Ayden Salazar, Caleb Salazar, Christopher Garza, Ramon Flores, Louis Rodriguez, Regan Randall, Gavin Guerrero and Landon Guerrero.
