Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late David, Sr. and Margery (Smith) Pierson.
Mr. Pierson was employed at South County Sand & Gravel for many years, until retiring.
He is survived by six children, Neil Pierson, Jr., Carl Pierson, Cynthia Pierson , Deborah Marchetti, and Colleen Zinni all of South Kingstown, Sheila Wise of Hope Valley; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother of Sylvia Whaley and Steve Pierson of South Kingstown, David Pierson of North Kingstown, Brenda Key of Florida, Janice Hannaford of Arkansas, and the late Joseph Person, Kenneth Pierson, Gail Duncan, Marcia Harvey, and Linda Coble.
A funeral service will be held on Friday January 12th at 11 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, South Kingstown. Burial will follow in New Fernwood cemetery, Kingston.
A Celebration of life will be held immediately following at the Elks Lodge, 60 Belmont Ave, Wakefield.
