David A. Cave, 58, passed away January 5, 2018 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born to Ancil and Betty (Hebel) Cave on September 12, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky. David graduated from North Harrison High School in 1977 (Ramsey, IN) and received a BS in Marketing from Indiana State University Evansville (USI) in 1980. He married college sweetheart Karen Erickson in 1981. They were married 36 years. David was the president and owner of 3K Machinery in New Albany, Indiana.

David's contagious smile and positive attitude was evident in everything he did and in everyone he met. He lived life to the fullest and was actively involved in his childrens' activities throughout the years. He particularly enjoyed spending time at New Albany Little League Park and attending New Albany High School sporting events.

David is survived by his wife Karen and their three children, Brian (Maggie) Cave, Brett (Adrienne) Cave, and Stephanie Cave; parents, Ancil and Betty Cave; two brothers, Robert (Cindy) Cave and Michael Cave; sister, Susan (Gary) Dorman; grandchildren, Jude and Navy Cave; nephew, Nathan (Michelle) Cave; niece, Kira Erickson; along with many friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Unity Chapel UMC, 1760 Lost Creek Road NW, Ramsey, Indiana 47166. Rev. Joe Hornick will be officiating.

Visitation will be available at the church at 10:00 am Wednesday preceding the funeral service. A private family burial will follow the funeral at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
