Don was born on December 26, 1950 in Danville, the son of Roy and Millie (Lindsey) Mayberry. He married April Meador on September 22, 1972 in Hoopeston. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Todd; two grandchildren, Shelby and Cash; one brother, Joseph (Marsha) Mayberry; one sister, Nancy (Greg) Shaffer and one uncle, Robert (Dee) Mayberry. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley and two brothers, Randy and James.
Don graduated from Hoopeston High School, in 1969. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1970 to 1972 and was a member of the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384. He worked at General Motors in Danville for 25 years, until retiring in 1997, when the facility closed. Don loved the outdoors- fishing, hunting and enjoyed golfing with friends. Don also liked spending time with his retired buddies.
