Richard Stoddard MUSCATINE, Iowa - Richard Stoddard, 82, of Muscatine, died Monday, March 13, 2000, at Unity Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Memorials may be made in Richard's memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Durant or Musser Public Library.

Mr. Stoddard was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Clinton, the son of Harry and Mildred Scheurs Stoddard. He married Anne D. Dow on June 27, 1942, in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 1998.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Capt. during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Couch amp; Heyle in Muscatine. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Durant and the Muscatine Elks Lodge.

His remains were donated to the University of Iowa Medical School in Iowa City.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Stoddard of Muscatine and Deborah Stoddard of Columbus Junction; two sons, Richard Stoddard of Skopkje, Macedonia and Timothy Stoddard of Lakewood, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his father, Harry Stoddard; and his mother, Mildred Stoddard.
