Peggy Anne Howard, age 70, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Liberty Village, Maryville, IL.

Peggy was born on April 19, 1947 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Fred Hull and Bertha Mae (Craig) Hull.

Peggy retired from Buffalo Tools in Granite City, IL, after many years of dedicated service. In her younger years, she enjoyed making ceramics with her children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Peggy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Jackson Smith; one brother, Gerald Hull; three sisters, Neva Ezell, Gladys McKinney and Betty Fuller.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Harold David Howard of Granite City, IL; loving children, Gale (Lee) Bilyeu and Jerry (Lisa Elkins) VanGilder, both of Granite City, IL; one brother, Gene (Fay) Hull of Granite City, IL; one sister, Bonnie Davis of Glen Carbon, IL; proud grandmother to Bradley John Smith; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL.

In celebration of her life, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Robert Hull officiating. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery on Nameoki Road, Granite City, IL.

Memorial donations may be given to the family and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
