Barbara L. Parshall, 74, Pekin, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born August 14, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Herman and Helen (Puehl) Tolbert, she married Roy E. Parshall on September 5, 1964 in Pekin. He died October 4, 2007 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Tolbert.
Surviving are one son, Scott (Amy) Parshall of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Lynn (Jesse) St. Clair of Pekin; three grandchildren, Tyler (Lynsie) Curtis of Pekin, Brittany Parshall of Lake St. Louis and Samantha St. Clair of Pekin; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Laiken, and Landon; and one sister, Shirley Juchems of Pekin.
She was a 1961 graduate of Pekin Community High School and later graduated from Midstate College with a degree in business.
Barbara worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1998 from the Accounts Payable office in Peoria.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin, where she formerly served the church as a deaconess.
Barbara enjoyed traveling, playing solitaire, and being on her computer. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
