LIA C. LEWIS Julia C. (June) Lewis passed away peacefully on 1/2/18 at the Legacy Health and Rehabilita-tion Center in Martinez, California. Julia was born in Lisco, Nebraska on September 16th, 1927 as the second child to Giuseppe and Maria Bertapelle. The family moved to Glenn, California in 1936 after Giuseppe purchased the Old Shiloh ranch. Julia Married David Lewis Sr. on November 10th, 1946. They imme-diately started a family and lived in Willows until March of 1957 when they purchased a dairy in Orland. She lived in Orland over the next 54 years in which she was a long time member of the Grange and Alter Society at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland. Julia had a long career at the Bank of America of which she retired after 37 years. She loved to be socially active for most of her life with bowling and dancing being at the top of the list. In later life she enjoyed writing her personal memoirs to be shared for years to come. Julia is survived by her three children David Lewis Jr. of Arizona, Michael Lewis of San Luis Obispo, and Sharyl Luthy of Pleasant Hill; her sisters Ellen Bertagna of Paradise and Nancy Bertapelle of Chico; eight grandchil-dren, fourteen great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. A Rosary will be held on 1/7/18 from 7-8 at F.D. Sweet & Son in Willows. Services will start on 1/8/18 at 10:00 with a mass to be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Willows follow-ing with internment at the Willows Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations under Julia's name can be sent to Hope Hospice, Inc.
