Mrs. Emma Pollard of Selma Dies at 90

Mrs. Emma Johnson Pollard of Selma died Tuesday morning at her home after a period of declining health. Mrs. Pollard was 90 years of age.

She was a native of Johnston County.

The funeral service was conducted at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Selma Church of God. The pastor, the Rev. M. N. Carnes officiated, assisted by the Rev. Carl Dixon. Interment followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Layton of Roper and Mrs. Lucy Williams of Clayton; three sons, Archie (Jake) Pollard of Selma, Ben Pollard of Augusta, Ga., and Dock Pollard of Wilson; 29 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren.
