Linda Bass, 62, of Ellington, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. Linda was born March 23, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Ray Eugene and Viva Harriet (seufert) Whitchurch.

On April 3, 1971 Linda was united in marriage to John Bass in Ellington, Missouri. To this union two children were born. John preceded her in death on December 10, 2015.

Linda worked as a LPN at the Reynolds County Health Department and was also a charge nurse at Brent B. Tinnin Nursing Home for nine years. She enjoyed taking road trips, playing computer games, watching TV and lottery tickets. More than anything she loved bossing her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband of 44 years, Linda is also preceded in death by one sister, Gina Counts and one brother, Larry Whitchurch.

Survivors include one son, Travis Bass and wife Heather of Ellington, Missouri; one daughter, Carrie Leslie (Kelly Davidson) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two brothers, Ronnie Whitchurch and wife Cindy of Boliver, Missouri, Terry Whitchurch and wife Laura of Webb Creek, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Clinton of Ellington, Missouri and Elaine Keathley, husband Chad of Doniphan, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Carol of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; six grandchildren, Michael, Jerilyn, Meghan, Domanick, Mackenzie and Cooper; one special friend, Sue Morrison; as well as many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

A visitation is set for Saturday, January 6, 2018 starting at 10:00 a.m. at McSpadden Funeral Home Ellington, Missouri.

The Funeral will begin in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2018 with Pastor Kelly Chilton officiating.

Burial to be held in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Kelly Davidson, Michael Bass, Brian Clinton, Solomon Whitchurch, Brooks Hill, and Mike Freeman.
