Marty, as she was well known, was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, enjoyed singing, gardening, stain glass making, traveling and camping. She worked twenty-one years as Supervisor of records at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Department in Florida.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bartoe and Edith Grace Miller Heath; brother, Thomas James Heath.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years, Jackson Edward Hodges, Sr.; son, Jackson Edward (Tina) Hodges, Jr., Pikeville; daughter, Cynthia Marie (William) Thies, TX; brother, Harry Eugene (JoAnn) Heath, GA; sister, Edith (David) Stroud, FL; four grandchildren, Keith Aaron (Allie) Thies, Rachael Marie (Andrew) Urbanic, Taylor Anne Hodges, Hannah Elizabeth Hodges; one great-granddaughter, Alice Rose Thies; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A memorial service was held at the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with pastors Darrell Evans and Donnie Lawson officiating.
