Wilmington - Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 1, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Born in Lavelle, PA, Doris was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Banning) Walter. She worked for the Crowell Corporation in office sales until her retirement in the early 1990's. Her hobbies included reading, travelling and being with her family. She was a very active member of St. John the Beloved Parish. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo M. Burns in 2009, and her children, Kathleen and Gerald.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Andrew Demers of Elkton, MD; her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Janet Burns of Bel Air, MD; six grandchildren, Cate, Maggie, Matthew and Julie Burns and Sarah and Daniel Demers; and five great grandchildren, Chloe and Owen Richardson and Naomi, Leo and Henry Loftus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5th at 12:30 PM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
