Calvin Knox Jordan, age 91, of St. Anthony Home, Crown Point, IN, went to be with his precious Jesus on January 1, 2018. Calvin was born on January 4, 1926 in Millville, New Jersey. He spent his childhood in Naperville, Illinois and Wheatfield, Indiana. Calvin was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Navy from 1944-1946. He was a resident of Crown Point, Indiana since 1954. Calvin worked as a truck driver for Jewel Tea, and Shell Oil Company. He then was a journeyman pipefitter for over 25 years. Calvin was a member of Living Hope Church since 1975. In his spare time, he enjoyed creating works of art, usually nature scenes using oils and acrylics as his medium. In his later years, he continued his creativity by writing and publishing a fiction book. Calvin is survived by his son, Eden Tim Jordan of Lawrence, IN; daughters: Christina (nee Jordan) Gergely of Kennewick, WA, and Margaret (nee Jordan) Pickering of Nashville, TN; stepdaughters: Jan (nee Enlow) Brown, and his precious care-giver, Patricia (nee Enlow) Blow, both of Crown Point, IN. His legacy lives on in his 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents: Eden and Mabel Knox Jordan; his first wife, Andrea (nee Jagoda) Jordan; his son, Mark Jordan; his brother, Victor Jordan; his second wife, Ethel (nee Enlow) Jordan; step-son, Kenny Enlow; sister, Elsie Hectrick; and daughter, Rebecca (nee Jordan) O'Skea-Dahl. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, Crown Point, IN, with Pastor Tom Shanahan officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Calvin's family wants to thank the amazing nurses on St. Anthony Home, 2nd floor: Rose and Colleen. They were very kind and diligent in their care of Calvin in his later years. Calvin was a kind and gentle soul. He was always generous and willing to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Franciscan St. Anthony Home.
