"A Mt. Washington resident, Mr. Claude Dixon, age 82, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 in University of Louisville Hospital. He was born October 28, 1935 in Blackly, Kentucky to the late David and Ethel Eldridge Dixon. Claude was a retired employee of Vendome Copper and Brass, a United States Navy Veteran, a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Letcher County and loved to fish.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudette Dixon and son, Michael Curtis Dixon.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Watts Dixon, a son, Craig Dixon of Mt. Washington, a sister, Geraldine (Larry) Blair of Blackly, KY., and a brother, Curl (Jeanette) Dixon of Ohio.

Funeral services for Mr. Claude Dixon will be 12:00 noon Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Bro. Squire Watts will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 am Thursday until time of funeral service. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Memorial Fund. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. "
