MINDEN, LA - Funeral services for Nancy Newland Lott, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Minden, LA with Rev. Wayne Dubose, Rev. Bill Crider and Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Lott, resident of Minden for almost 60 years was born in Marshall, TX and died Sat. March 24, 2007 in Shreveport, LA. She was a school teacher with 20 years of service, retiring in 1994 from the Webster Parish School Board, as well as teaching for 10 years at Glenbrook School in Minden. She was a member of the Dorcheat Chapter of the D.A.R. serving as chaplain. She also held membership in the National Society of New England Women, and the Gamma Epsilon chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. As a member of the First Baptist Church she was the teacher of the Faith Sunday School Class and a member of the Women's Department Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Maj. Clarence E. McClaran and Rev. Foster Lott; son: Dr. Ed McClaran, Jr. and grandson Eddie McClaran III.
She is survived by sons: John D. McClaran and wife Ruby, Dr. Dare Lott and wife Charlotte; daughter, Sharyan Utley; grandchildren: Dr. Scott McClaran, Todd McClaran, Crystal McClaran, John Wesley McClaran, Christopher McClaran, Dr. foster Lott, Vince Lott, Mary Charlotte Pitman, Joey Utley, Josh Utley and Jenny Utley.
Pallbearers will be R.E. Mike Woodard, R.E. Woodard, Jr., Bob Hinze, Randall Carter, Dr. John Hill and Robert McKillips. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
