He was born Sept. 15, 1910 at Kyles Ford, Tn. where he lived and attended school. In 1929 he moved to Emmett and worked on the Andrew Little Sheep Ranch. He worked on several ranches throughout Idaho and Central Oregon. He married Betty Lou Creel May 10, 1945 at the Dalles. He also lived at Homedale and Idaho Falls. They moved tp Payette in November 1977.
He is survived by his wife of Payette, two daughters, Lorinne Nevada Hunt of Moscow and Linda Lou Hunt of Berkley, Calif., two brothers, PaulHurd of Kyles Ford, Tn. and Carson Hurd of Parma; and three sisters Mrs. Junior (Lena Mae Hurd) Stapleton of Sykesville, Maryland, Mrs. Gene (Lorene Hurd) Sizemore of Church Hill, Tn. and Mrs. York (Nancy Hurd) of Edison, Tn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
