VIA SAC 11/2010:

Mrs. Annie Hammer Nicodemus, well known and highly respected resident of Bedford County, and the widow of the late Frank Nicodemus, died at her home in Napier Township, about one mile west of Schellsburg, Pa., on Thursday afternoon, March 11, at 2:30 o'clock following a paralytic stroke a few days prior to her death. She was aged 56 years and was born in Lincoln Township, near Pleasantville, the daughter of the former sheriff, the late John B. Hammer, and Leah Ling Hammer. Mrs. Nicodemus early in life united with the Evangelic Church in which she continued a loyal and faithful member until death. She was the mother of eleven surviving children, including six daughters and five sons. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Cyrus Harbaugh, of Pleasantville. Funeral services were conducted at the home on Sunday morning in charge of the Pastor of the Evangelical Church and interment was made in the family plot in the Schellsburg Cemetery.
