Sarah Rachel (Cook) Meece Vaught

Mrs. Sallie Ruckel Vaught, 78, of Somerset, Route 1, died early Saturday morning following an illness of three months. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Sarah Ann Hargis Cook and was born Feb. 25, 1894, in this county. She and Samuel Edward Vaught, were married in Somerset in 1905.

Mrs. Vaught was a faithful member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church No. 2, and her devotion to her home and church won for her countless admirers. She was always interested in the welfare of others and was untiring in her efforts to aid those in distress and sorrow.

Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill No. 2 Church Monday afternoon with the Rev. W.W. McAlpin officiating. Burial was in the Tanner Cemetery.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Tanner, Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Eliza Jones, Monon, Ind., and Mrs. Arthur Hall, Somerset, and one brother, George L. Cook, Somerset.
