Dot spent her professional career working for the Internal Revenue Service for twenty five years.
Upon retirement, Dot spent many years volunteering with St Vincent De Paul, Seton Hospital, and the Texas State School. She truly enjoyed serving others. Dot's passion was very simple. She placed faith, family, and serving others, as the priorities in her life. Her fun- loving personality, wit, and charm will be missed.
She passed away Friday December 29th, 2017. Dot, as many of her friends knew her, was the daughter of Paul and Kitty Lou Brown, who predeceased her. She married Robert Hopkins and went on to have 8 children. Robert passed in 1984.
She is survived by her children Trudy Heithecker, Barbara Farrell, Robert Joseph Hopkins, Joan McDonell, Paul Hopkins, Louann Sellecchia, Julie Buron, and Mary Timperman, nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd. Rosary will recited. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Austin's Catholic Church, 2026 Guadalupe Street, Austin, Texas 78705. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 South Interstate 35 Frontage Road, Austin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or Catholic Charities.
