Tom graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1946 and then served in the United States Navy during WWII, stationed in Hawaii. Upon returning to Erie, Tom started the Kirsch Construction Company with his brother, Ben, which they ran for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Boniface Church and the Greene Township Lions Club. Tom enjoyed woodworking, beekeeping, gardening and orchid growing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Thelma E. DaSilva Kirsch; his two sisters, Violet Sicilia and Oretha Wagner; and his six brothers, Joseph, Truman, Benjamin, Glen, Albert, and Peter Kirsch.
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Kirsch and her husband, Terry Williams, of Ambler, Pa.; his two sons, Eugene Kirsch and his wife Ellie of Williamsburg, Virginia and Thomas J. Kirsch and his wife Cindy, of Erie; his five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial in Mount of Olives Cemetery.
