He was a 1983 graduate of Grant High School. He attended Spartan School of Aviation where he received all of his aviation licenses. He was an instructor at Palwaukee Airport. In 1989, he became a first officer at Skyway Airlines and ultimately Captain with Mesa Airlines. He resided in Phoenix, AZ most of his life until moving back to the Midwest about 2 years ago.
Brett is the son of Gil and Jean Johnson of Ingleside; brother of Laura (Joe) Meyers of Ringwood and Brian (Darcy) Johnson of Ingleside. He is uncle to Zach Meyers and Matt Pennington.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Marion and Andy Andersen and Wally and Jenny Johnson.
A celebration of life will be February 7, 2018, at Anastasia's in Antioch, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
