Mr. Eric Antonio “Slick Rick” Moore, 37, of 1459 Cherryville Rd. Shelby, NC departed this life on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Carolinas Health Care System-Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on November 8, 1980 in Cleveland County, NC to Patricia Griffin Moore and the late Howard Moore.
Eric was a 1999 graduate of Shelby High School and was a football and basketball player. He was currently employed at Belk Distribution Center in Jonesville, SC. Eric loved to drive, watch movies, play video games and he loved trying to fix things. He also enjoyed eating and trying new restaurants out and he loved to travel.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margie Griffin; a special aunt and uncle, Lynn Toms and Emmitt Griffin; two special cousins, Eddie Thompson and Ivan Thompson and a nephew, Marquiz Davis.
Left to cherish fond memories are his mother, Patricia Moore; three sisters, Katrina Moore Jones (“K”), Chris Moore and Crystal F. Moore all of Shelby; brothers, David Smith and Howard M. Moore, Jr. of Shelby and Warren S. Moore of Gastonia, NC ; sister-in-law, Dewanda Shelton of Shelby; aunts, Gwendolyn Thompson, Carolyn Griffin and Sandra Mendoza; nieces, Keisha Moore, Keanna Smith and Kenya Adams; nephews, Anthony Adams, Jr. Gregory Davis, Jr., Mario Moore (Cherina), Michael Gill, Jaquez Shelton; special cousin, Michael Strong and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Faith Harvest Church with Pastor Carolyn Briggs officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday and at other times at the home
