Rodney Allen Tucker, 77, of Blessing after a long and courageous battle with cancer passed away December 31, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born February 26, 1940 in Bay City to the late Cyrus Perry Tucker and Ica Lena Purvis Tucker. He served his country in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife Doris Tucker of Blessing; daughters Lorene Piwonka (Clarence) of Blessing and Sondra Rickaway (Randy) of New Braunfels; sons Rodney Allen Tucker, Jr. of San Antonio and Jimmy Tucker (Charlotte) of New Braunfels; sister Lena Mae Milleson of Markham; brother William Clyde Tucker (Lou) of Brookhaven, Mississippi; grandchildren Rondey Allen Tucker III (Delilah), Amber Rashall (Chris), Karl Tucker, Isalena Wichert (Thomas), Meagan Piwonka, Zachary Tucker (Kaleigh), Shelby Moroney (Jonathan), Derek Nance (Alyssa), Cassie Boyett (Chris), Randi Rickaway (M. J.) and Cole Rickaway (Vera) and great grandchildren Johnny, Waylon, Zoe, Gage, Peytyn, Logen, Seth, Emma, Bailey, Katlin, Wade, Colby, Tailee, Elaine and Max.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Palacios Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 6:30PM. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Nance, Rodney Allen Tucker III, Chris Boyett, Zachary Tucker, Clay Pendleton, Karl Tucker, Jonathan Moroney and Thomas Wichert.

In lieu of flowers, donation made to MD Anderson, Houston Hospice, St. Peter’s Catholic Church or any foundation of your choice made in memory of Rodney A. Tucker would be greatly appreciated.
