Catherine married Patrick Rossi on January 29,1948. The family emigrated to Shelby, North Carolina in 1952. Their oldest son, Chris was soon joined by three more children John, Steve and Theresa. The Rossi's were an integral part in the life of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Catherine and Patrick became American Citizens on November 8, 1968. In 1988 Catherine's beloved husband Patrick, passed away suddenly and in 1993 Catherine moved to Raleigh to be near her children and grandchildren in Raleigh and Durham. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for over twenty years, volunteering at Catholic Parish Outreach and serving in the Alter Guild. Catherine is survived by her sister Jane Jaynes of Titusville, Florida and family; her brother James Quinan of Beaconsfield, England and family; and Sisters- in -Law Lillian and Ann Quinan and their families, all of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is also survived by her children, Chris, John, Steve and Theresa and their spouses, as well as by her much loved grandchildren Laura, Colin, Sean, Sarin, Brian and Quinan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 24. Following the service the family will receive friends at a reception in the Fallon Center.
