Jamie Rae Sering Hamilton

Brownsburg - 55, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Dec. 28, 2017, after a brave battle with breast cancer. She was born Feb. 23, 1962 in Lafayette, IN as the first of three children to James Everett and Anne Noecker Sering. She graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1980 and received her Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in marketing from the University of Evansville in 1984. Jamie worked for Walker Information in Indianapolis, Investment Company Institute in Washington, DC, the Brownsburg School District Transportation Department, and finally with the kind people of the Free Methodist World Ministries Center in Indianapolis before going on leave in April 2017 due to her illness. Jamie was an avid collector of many things including comic books and Disney pins, and enjoyed games, puzzles, movies, as well as any creative outlet for her artistic talents, including most recently crewelwork embroidery, a fabric art that is at least one thousand years old. As a self-described extroverted introvert, Jamie also collected many friends and loved ones with her humor and child-like enthusiasm for life. As a member of the John Wesley Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis, she remained ever grateful to God for her family, friends, and church, and for all the love that she was able to give and receive. In addition to her parents, Jamie is survived by her husband, best friend, and love of her life, Tim Hamilton; her son and purpose for life, Sgt. Wilson Alexander Tedrow, US Army, Fort Campbell, KY, his wife Karissa and their daughters Cora Ellen and Evelyn Rae; her "bonus" kids, Daemyn, Michael (Kaycee) and Avery Hamilton; her brothers James Maxwell (Tina) Sering and Russell Byron (Savannah) Sering, and their children Annabelle and Elliot. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thurs. Jan. 4 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with Celebration of Life Service there at 10am Fri. Jan. 5. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Boone County, followed by a meal at John Wesley FMC, 5900 W. 46th St., Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the FMC-USA to benefit the Marston Memorial Historical Center, 770 N. High School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46214.
