Mr. Benjamin Francis Wade, Jr, 78, of 685 Huntington Trail in Cascade, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born to the late Benjamin Francis Wade, Sr. and Virginia Williams Wade.

He was a US Army veteran and a former engineer for Merck, Incorporated.

He loved golfing, deep sea fishing and spending time with his family.

He was a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church in Cascade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Tammy Jo Wade Baker and Jodi Wade Booth.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Hunt Wade of the home, daughter Candy Lewis of Danville, VA, seven grandchildren Britni Gelinas and husband Don Gelinas, Lauren Lewis, Carla Jo Booth, Leslie Lewis, Will Lewis and Wade Lewis, three great-grandchildren Savannah Kallam, Grey Gelinas and Charlotte Gelinas, sisters Carrie Hutcherson and husband Garland Hutcherson and Sonja Wade Hamrick and brother William Michael Wade and wife Peggy Wade.

Funeral services were held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden.

Burial followed in the Hunt Family Cemetery with Military Honors being performed by the NC National Guard Honor Guard.
