Twin sister of the late Dorothy Lois Fox Shaw ~

STATESVILLE- Doris F. Millsaps, 90, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017.
Born August 8, 1927 in Statesville, NC, she was the daughter to the late Glenn and Effie Dellinger Fox. She graduated from Cool Spring High School and attended Mitchell Community College. While working at her family's paint store, she met her husband, Dick Millsaps. Doris continued on as a Administrative Assistance with FCX INC. until her retirement in 1977. After she retired, she started purchasing and maintaining investment real estate properties. Doris loved fishing, boating, basking in the sun, dancing, shopping for jewelry and clothes, playing the piano and playing with her cats. When able she enjoyed visiting her family, aunts and many cousins.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Dick Millsaps; daughter, Pamela Sharpe; brothers, Glenn Jr. and Leonard Fox; sister, Dorothy Shaw.
Left to cherish her memory as her children, Karen (Paul) Blendowski and Jeffrey (Trina) Millsaps; son-in-law, Ray Sharpe; grandchildren, Paul (Victoria) Sharpe, Richard Sharpe, Dyan Gomez, Jackyln (Brian) Baird, Robyn (Anthony) Giannesni, Jayson Blendowski, Savannah Millsaps; seven great-grandchildren and many other loving family members.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:30am at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. David Locke officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Autumn Care of Statesville and Hospice for all the love and care they showed for our mom.
Memorials may be made in Doris' name to Iredell County Hospice and Palliative Care, 2341 Simotnon Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or Providence United Methodist Church, 1273 Old Mocksville Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
