Ronald Dale “Ron” Stroud, 74, met his Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, December 30, 2017. Ron was born on February 22, 1943.
Ron proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. He worked as a warehouse supervisor at Dana Corp. He and Sheila were members of Southgate Baptist Church for 51 years, since 1966. Ron loved coaching softball. He coached Sonja and Kristi’s softball teams from grade school all the way through High School. He also played for and coached the Southgate Baptist Church softball team for many years. Ron also enjoyed woodworking and had a hobby of cracking pecans. You could often find Ron sitting outside at his fireplace at home, drinking coffee and visiting with friends and neighbors. Most of all, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family at their Family Get Togethers every Friday night.
Ron is survived by his loving daughter, Kristi Sanders and husband Greg; grandchildren, Jesse Sanders and wife Natalie, Brooke Jones and husband Jacob, Savanna Sanders, and Gage Sanders; brothers, Charles Stroud and wife LaDonna, Jerry Stroud and wife RoseAnne, and Lawson “Buster” Stroud and wife Wanda; and several nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Stroud; daughter, Sonja Sanders, brother, Glenn Stroud; and sister, Barbara Brantley.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30 – 5:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Southgate Baptist Church, 740 SW 4th St., Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
