Marilyn Davis Hankins, 77, of High Point, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015.

She was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Guilford County, a daughter of Frank Davis and Mamie Dickens. She attended Jamestown and Allen Jay Schools. She was a homemaker and loved working in the yard and garden. She loved to travel, especially to the beach, and with her husband was the record holder largest fish caught. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Morgan; a son, Tony Hankins; four brothers, Sammy, Raymond, Floyd and Frank Davis; and a sister, Marion Wright.

On Aug. 7, 1953, she married Donald Harold Hankins of High Point, who survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Danny Hankins and wife Carol of Trinity and Mark Hankins of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Doris Hankins of Thomasville; two granddaughters, Robyn Hankins and Lori Lyons and husband Chris; five grandsons, Benjamin Morgan III, Cory, Steven, Taylor and Zachary Hankins; two great-grandsons, Alexander and Avery Lyons; two sisters, Carlene Gordon and Jenny Link; a sister-in-law, Edith Davis; and her dog, Sparky.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale. A graveside service will immediately follow in the Midway Wesleyan Church cemetery at 358 Worthville Road in Randleman.
