Mrs. Elsie M. Tanger, 208 Fourth St. S.E., died Saturday night at St. John Regional Medical Center at the age of 75.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church chapel with the Rev. Robert P. Nielsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Otto Strong, Lawrence Phillips, Kevin and Andrew Tanger, Owen and Vernon Amick.

Elsie M. Amick was born Aug. 11, 1897, to Charles and Mahulda Amick at Sioux City, Iowa. In 1906 she came to South Dakota with her parents. She married Charles Tanger in 1923 at Redfield. She taught and helped her husband operate a grocery until moving to Huron in 1933. She taught school until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, WSCS and National Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include one son, Gerald E. Tanger, Loachapoka, Ala.; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Sherry) Bell, Friendswood, Tex.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Amick, Woosocket; Ethan Amick, Mitchll; two sisters, Grace Phillips, Mitchell, and Carrie Hollister, Letcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.
