Lonny Mark Williams, 34, of Chicago died Wednesday at Illinois Masonic Hospital of a gunshot wound. The death is under investigation as a homicide. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at True Bible Baptist Church in Des MOines, with burial in Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Williams lived in Des MOines all his life until moving to Chicago eight years ago. He was a civil engineer for the city of Chicago and had served in the Air Force.
Surviving are his mother, Gloria Jean Heard of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Monalisa Hampton of Chicago and Ronlindia Carter of Winter Park, Fla.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Estes & Son Funeral Home in Des Moines.
