August 4, 1941 - December 28, 2017
George William Pulliam, age 76, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Loxley, AL was called to his heavenly home while surrounded by family Thursday, December 28, 2017. Mr. Pulliam was a 1959 graduate of Robertsdale High School. He attended the University of Alabama. George worked for Mrs. Dora Steele before he began his career with the United State Postal Service. He worked over 30 years for the USPS to include being the Postmaster for Silverhill, Alabama and Robertsdale, Alabama. After retiring from the postal service, he was part owner and worked at Robertsdale Power Equipment. Earlier in his life he was an avid bowler for almost two decades. He traveled with the family to several different tournaments across the country. He and Sylvia, side by side, played a big part for many years in working to make the St. Patrick’s Wild Irish Holiday a success and they volunteered once again and organized items in the Catholic Social Services Thrift Store. Among other areas of ministry, they were also grounds keepers for the church and school. Mr. Pulliam was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister for several years at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He loved Alabama football, playing poker, telling stories and jokes and being social with others. George loved people. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Pulliam of Loxley, AL; two daughters, Tamra Rose Pulliam (Steve) Williams of Longmont, CO, Donna Liane Pulliam of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Johnnie Miller, Dianne Martiniere (Joe) McKissick, Ellen Faye (Roy) Edwards, Wanda (Larry) Pitts all of Fairhope, AL; brother, Danny (Joyce) Pulliam of Fairhope, AL and granddaughter, Hailey Sabrina Williams. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Robertsdale, AL. A visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home and Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church beginning at 9 a.m.. Burial will be in the Dyess Cemetery, Robertsdale, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic School, P. O. Box 1367, Robertsdale, AL 36567. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale, AL.
