After the war he graduated from Michigan State University and later obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute in Philadelphia. He began a long career as a City Manager starting in Norway, MI and which took him and his family across the country working in the cities of Upper Marion, PA, Portage, MI, Sandusky OH, Santa Monica, CA, East Providence, RI, Joliet, IL, Aurora, CO, East Detroit, MI, and Sioux City, IA. Paul was City Manager in Sioux City from 1978 to 1984.

He was born on October 9, 1923 in Chicago and remained a lifelong fan of that city’s south side sports teams including the White Sox and especially the Blackhawks. He began running at the age of 50, after joining the Barington, RI YMCA. Running and going to the YMCA soon became his daily passion he successfully completed several marathons including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC. He also served on the Greater Siouxland YMCA board for many years. He was dog lover his entire life and was especially fond of basset hounds. He greatly enjoyed traveling with Marion and together they saw much of the world. In 1987 he fulfilled a long time dream by returning to the South Pacific serving as Budget and Finance Officer in American Samoa for 3 years. He was an avid story teller with many of his tales based on his extensive travels.

Paul was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church serving as an usher and helping with funding raising activities.
