Eric Dwayne Crawford, 38, of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, New Castle, Virginia. Dwayne graduated from New Castle High School, where he played basketball and baseball.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. R. and Lottie Hughes and Robert and Esterleen Crawford; uncles, J. B. Hughes, Roger Crawford, Herman Short and R. J. Caldwell.

Dwayne is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Wayne and Pat Crawford of New Castle, Virginia; aunts, Anita Hughes, Geneva Short, Nora (Sissy) Caldwell and Jennifer Crawford. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Clifford Nottingham, Julie Legualt and the staff of Friendship Health and Rehab 1 South and 3 Main for their loving care and compassion for Dwayne during the last 20 years.

The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017 and also at Crossroads Christian Church from 12:30PM to 2PM on Monday, January 1, 2018 where the funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00PM with Pastor Jim Morris officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Crawford Family Cemetery at the Church.
