Barry was one of twelve children born to Woodrow W. and Laura C. Phillips.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of joyful moments by his loving brothers, Edgar C. Phillips Sr. (RoseMarie) of Sugarland, TX, Terrell W. Phillips of Galveston, TX, Gerard D. Phillips of Franklin, LA; his beloved sister, Susan M. Joseph of Charenton, LA and his devoted sister, Robin M. Johnson (Hermon) of Galveston, TX.
Barry will truly be, missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family members who were delighted to have known him.
Barry was a gentle, trusting and loving person, who enjoyed fishing and working in the garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Laura Phillips, sisters, Doris Bowser, Barbara Lanceslin, Brenda Phillips; brothers, Ricky Phillips, Ronald Phillips and Horace Phillips.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wynn Funeral Home, 602 32nd St., Galveston. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
