Age 53, of New Cumberland, PA, died on December 16, 2017, in Wellsville, PA.
Born August 28, 1964, in Rocky River, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, he was the son of Richard L. Fisher of Jacksonville, FL.
Matthew was employed as an accountant for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
He was a 1996 graduate of Robert Morris University where he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
Matthew was a former member of Orchard Christian Fellowship in Pittsburgh, PA and recently attended Crossfire Ministries in New Cumberland, PA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his father, Matthew is survived by three brothers, Michael A. Fisher of Charleroi, PA, John E. Fisher of Panama City, FL and R. Christopher Fisher of Chattanooga, TN; and four sisters, Teresa J. Fisher of Chariton, Iowa, Lisa G. Wick of Fort Lauderdale, PA, Barbara L. Fisher of Mineral, VA and Anna K. Fisher of Washington, DC. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Orchard Christian Fellowship, 725 Schoonmaker Ave., Monessen, PA 15062 with Pastor John Custer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mailing a check to: UPMC Mercy Development Office, 1400 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 with "In Memory of Matthew J. Fisher" written on the memo line. All donations will benefit the UPMC Mercy Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility where those with Traumatic Brain Injuries similar to Matthew's are able to get hands-on care and treatment.
