Mr. Dewey Elrod Osborne, 79, of 156 Campbell Dr, Hartwell, died Friday, April 17 at his home.
Born on March 22, 1930 in Greenville SC, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Osborne and Viola Elrod Osborne. He retired from Rayloc Division of Genuine Parts Company as a truck driver with 36 years of service and he was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Steele Osborne of the home; two sons, George Osborne and his wife Wendy of Conway SC and Daniel Osborne and his wife Cathy of Acworth GA; a daughter, Diana Gillespie and her husband, Steve of Myrtle Beach SC; three brothers, Fletcher Osborne and Fred Osborne both of Atlanta and Donald Osborne of Hay Market, Virginia; two sisters, Lillian Taylor of Athens and Hannah Vickery of Hartwell; five grandchildren, Tiffany Gillespie, Derek Gillespie, Emma Osborne, Aiden Osborne and Madeline Osborne also survive. Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Osborne and C L Osborne.
Mr. Osborne wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Nelms and Rev. Joe Black officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
