Beverly was born on August 12, 1931 in Wilder, the fourth of five children of Ray and Florence McLoud. She graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT in 1949.
On August 13, 1950, she married John "Bump" Hathorn in White River Junction.
Being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker were her priorities in life, and she was great at all of them.ÂÂ
To know Beverly was to love her. Her home was always a warm welcome place for friends and family alike, full of love and the smell of her delicious cooking. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who were her pride and joy), there was no better news than hearing you were going to visit Nan & Bump. She would always greet you with a hug and kiss, and when it was time to leave, she would always stand on the porch, wave, and yell, "Love you!" as you drove away, no matter what the weather.
Beverly enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her many friends, and the occasional trip to the casino was a special treat for her. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the different wild birds flock to her many feeders, cardinals being her favorite.
She is predeceased by her parents Ray & Florence McLoud, husband John E. Hathorn, sisters Josie Davis and Barbara Cerasoli, and brothers Lyle and Blaine McLoud.
She is survived by her son John M. Hathorn of Wilder, daughter Pamela Guilbault and her husband Gary of Norton, VT, grandchildren Jeffrey Peck, Todd Peck and his wife Lisa, Michael Hathorn, Josh Hathorn, Chris Hathorn, Megan Hathorn, step-grandchildren Kevin, Kristi, and Keith Guilbault, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and burial will be held in the spring at the Christian St. Cemetery in Wilder, VT, with a gathering and celebration of her life to follow.
In lieu or flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Beverly's name to the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.
