She was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol. Mary was active in bowling for many years. She was employed by Washington Trust and Savings and retired after 51 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Andrew and Isabel Booher O’Dell; a sister, Hazel O’Dell Hjelm and a brother, James O’Dell.
Survivors include two nieces, Laura Barbrey of Bristol, TN and Mary Ashmore of Greenville, SC; three great-nephews, Aaron Barbrey, John Ashmore and Bryan Barbrey.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to friends of Mary, Barrie Smith and Linda Earhart.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The burial will follow in Shipley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 P.M., Thursday, prior to the service.
