Ronald Lee Hartman, 74, of Farmersville, OH, passed away Tuesday evening, December 26, 2017, following an extended illness. Born December 21, 1943 in West Sonora, OH, he was one of 11 children born to the late David and Merna Jeanette (Brinkley) Hartman. Following graduation from Lewisburg High School, he served with the US Army Reserve from 1963 – 1969 in the 7th Infantry Artillery Division, and called into active duty and stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was a truck driver for various companies for 48 years, driving both over the road and local routes; and was currently employed by Barnett's Trucking of Camden. Ron loved being a truck driver and was proud of his impeccable driving record. He served as a volunteer fireman for the City of Eaton from 1968 to 1973 and was a member of the Farmersville United Church of Christ. He was a loyal fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhart, both Senior and Junior. He enjoyed flower gardening and kept immaculate flower beds around his home. Ron also enjoyed camping and cruise vacations. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Janice L. (Spaulding) Hartman on November 28, 1993; 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

Ron is survived by beloved wife Susan M. (Bussard) Hartman whom he married December 17, 2006: children Steven Hartman and wife Michelle of Montgomery, IL; Lynn Swihart of West Alexandria, OH; Lisa Adams and husband Bill of Murfreesboro, TN: step children Jonathan Moore and wife Jennifer of Farmersville; and Melinda Moore of Miamisburg, OH: 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren: brothers Gary Hartman and wife Dee of Zepher Hills, FL; and Mike Hartman of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens – 3377 US Rt. 35 – West Alexandria. Pastor Larry Lindstrom will officiate. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 - 5:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Farmersville United Church of Christ – 42 S. Broadway St. – Farmersville; and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Sunday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Farmersville Fire Association.
