Judy Laverne Hopkins, age 70 and a resident of Forest, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest following a brief illness.

Judy was laid to rest Tuesday December 26, 2017 at the Homewood Methodist Cemetery.

Judy was born on February 9, 1947 in Houston, TX to her parents A. Laverne Hopkins and Mary Alice Byrd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Reed, III.

She was a Christian lady and mother of 3 children; Mary Elizabeth Drew of Newport News, VA., Charles B. Reed, IV., and John A. Reed both of Plaquemine, LA. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Debbie (Mahlon) Reid of Forest and Janice (Robert) Harrell of Summit, MS. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Christina Drew, Marely Drew, Nicole Drew all of Virginia Beach, VA., and Robin Reed of Plaquemine, LA. Judy also left behind a very special aunt, Madeline Ellis of Buckner, MO.

Judy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
