Stephanie A. McClain departed her well-lived life on December 22, 2017 surrounded by a host of family and friends who deeply loved her. Stephanie was born on October 11, 1938 in Cincinnati , Ohio to H. Kenneth and Margaret (Margo) McClain. She began her career in teaching PE in a Catholic High School. After 10 years she worked for Proctor and Gamble and then later the Girl Scouts where she met her partner of 35 years, Sandy Clough. Stephanie eventually moved down to Houston to be with Sandy and together they formed a life and powerhouse team of what Sandy liked to call, compulsive volunteering. Both Stephanie and Sandy were volunteers in Assisthers, Black Tie, LOAF, The Girl Scouts, and Hatch. After Sandy’s death in 2011 Stephanie continued on. Stephanie leaves behind countless friends, family members, her dog Moses and a few recipes.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Celebration of Life House, 7723 Beechnut St, Houston, Texas 77074.
